[SN 91407703] USED Gibson USA / Thunderbird IV, 1997, Vintage Sunburst [12]
Featuring a through-neck design that delivers long sustain and ultra-deep bass, this model dates from the era when Gibson used ebony fingerboards.
With a 5-piece mahogany/walnut neck, ebony fingerboard, and mahogany body wings, it delivers the robust, resilient sound unique to Gibson.
The bridge has been replaced with a HIPSHOT SuperTone Gibson Bass Replacement Bridge, which transmits string vibration to the body more directly than the original.
There are traces of a recessed mount on the 4th string tuner, indicating that a HIPSHOT D-Tuner may have been installed there.
Overall, there are scattered fine scratches, dents, and weather checking throughout the instrument.
There are cracks and peeling in the finish on the side of the fingerboard, but the wood itself is unaffected and there are no issues with playability.
The strap pins have been replaced with Jim Dunlop locking pins, and the corresponding strap hardware is included.
Although it shows some signs of use, it has been fully serviced and cleaned at our repair center, and playability is excellent.
