[SN K015150] USED Orville / Melody Maker MM-65, manufactured in 1991, Ebony [12]

We’ve received a shipment of Orville Melody Makers.
We have received a Melody Maker from “Orville,” a Japanese-made brand officially licensed by Gibson that was distributed in Japan from the late 1980s through the late 1990s.
Based on the serial number, this model is believed to have been manufactured in 1991 by Terada Gakki.

Compared to the Les Paul Standard and Les Paul Custom, there are far fewer used Orville models on the market, making this an extremely rare item.

While Gibson’s Melody Maker featured a single single-coil pickup and a wrap-around bridge with an integrated tailpiece, this Orville MM-65 is equipped with a single humbucker pickup and a Tune-O-Matic bridge, delivering a powerful sound and making it easy to adjust the octave pitch.
There are scattered fine scratches and dents throughout the body, and the hardware shows some slight tarnish.
Although it shows some signs of use, it has been fully serviced and cleaned at our repair center, and playability is excellent.
