[SN O013184] USED Fender Japan / ST62-70TX 3-Tone Sunburst [05]

We’ve just received an ST62-70TX manufactured during the “Crafted in Japan” era, circa 1997–2000!

This popular model is inspired by the 1962-spec Stratocaster. It is a “Crafted in Japan” instrument with an “O0” serial number, featuring the high quality and consistent craftsmanship unique to the Dyna Gakki era. Equipped with Texas Special pickups as standard, it delivers a vintage-like bell-like tone along with a powerful midrange and a sound with real presence.

The combination of a 3-tone sunburst finish and a rosewood fingerboard embodies the classic ’62 style, and when paired with the character developed over time, it creates a guitar with a truly wonderful vibe. Weighing approximately 3.50 kg, it’s easy to handle, and its excellent balance—a hallmark of the Stratocaster—is another major appeal.

The metal hardware shows some patina from age, and the neck plate has scratches from use. There are also minor scratches on the finish, but considering that more than a quarter of a century has passed since its manufacture, the overall condition appears to be relatively good. This is a charming instrument that combines practicality with a vintage feel, clearly having been cherished and played for many years.

In recent years, the reputation of Fender Japan models from the “Crafted in Japan” era has been on the rise, and the ST62-70TX—equipped with a U.S.-made Texas Special pickup—is known as a highly sought-after model on the used market. Combining a vintage-style appearance with a practical sound, this is a guitar we can confidently recommend to both players and collectors.

After purchase, we performed a setup at our repair center, so it’s ready to play right away.
